Beach house behind palms on the North Shore

A beach house half hidden behind palms and dense planting on the North Shore, with the sand running away to the right and a headland in the distance.
The vegetation fills the left half and rises to the top edge; the sky and sea open across the right. The sand enters at the lower left and runs out to the right, carrying the eye past the planting.
Bottle green and emerald through the foliage against a cerulean sky with cloud in cream and dusty rose. The sand is cadmium yellow and ochre; the far headland a flat violet.
The planting is built from separate loaded touches with the paper showing between them, and the palm fronds are struck out singly with the point of the brush. The sky is one broad wash with the cloud reserved.
Watercolour on paper. Transparent throughout, with unpainted margins on all four sides.
Lower right, raypatrick, in black over the sand, with north shore Hi inscribed beneath it.
