Bang
Mersh shooting from a low crouch, pistol thrust out ahead of him and a cigarette in his mouth, with the shot lettered BANG across the night behind him and a full moon at the right.
The figure runs along the bottom of the sheet from the left, with a solid black band of night across the top third and the lettering set into it. The gun arm and the moon sit on the same line, which is what joins the two halves.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Pen hatching throughout for the clothes, worked tightly enough to read as grey, against flat solid black for the sky. The lettering is drawn open and left white. Spatter is flicked across the lower half.
Ink on sketchbook paper, dated in the upper left corner.
No signature; the sheet carries a date at the upper left.
