Aardvarks in the ring

A follow-up to the aardvark cartoon. Six masked aardvarks are packed into a wrestling ring, some leaning over the top rope and some crouched low with weapons drawn, filling the frame from edge to edge.
The ring ropes run as hard horizontals across the sheet and the creatures are stacked in two tiers behind and in front of them, so the picture reads as a team photograph that has gone wrong.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Open contour with solid black used for the ring apron and the shadows between bodies, and the long snouts drawn as repeated parallel shapes so the crowd of them reads as a pattern.
Ink on paper, drawn as a cartoon for the show.
Signed with the artist's name at the lower left and dated at the upper right in MMDDYY.
