A long beach seen from high above the town

A long beach seen from high above, the town running down the left, the sand curving away to the right and the sea opening across the whole upper half.
A high viewpoint and a sweeping curve: the shoreline enters at the lower left and arcs to the right edge, dividing town from water. The headland and hills close the top as a flat band.
Ultramarine and teal through the water with a band of jade in the shallows, against a beach of pale cream and bone. The town is a patchwork of coral roofs, slate and sage.
The town is built from small flat strokes laid in rows, each one a roof, with no drawing beneath. The sea is dragged in long horizontal pulls and the surf is a single broken white line.
Gouache on paper. Matte and opaque, with a wide unpainted margin round the painted area.
Lower right, raypatrick, in cream over the sand, letters touching.
